MANAGEMENT of Azman Airlines has apologized to passengers following the recent disruption of its flight operations.

The airline, via its Twitter handle, said the development was borne out of security reasons.

“This is to appeal to our esteemed passengers over the recent disruption of flights due to our strong stance on safety.

“We understand this came with huge inconveniences, and we deeply apologize. Thank you for always trusting us with your travels,” Azman tweeted.

It would be recalled that in September, hundreds of passengers of Azman Air were stranded at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, following the abrupt cancellation of a morning flight to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

While many of the passengers claimed that they were not informed of the flight cancellation by the airline, a few others said they got prior information about the cancellation.

A travel agent, Adebola Adebiyi, claimed that no fewer than five of his clients were affected.

According to Adebiyi, he had procured tickets for five clients who were scheduled to travel to Abuja with the 10:30 am flight from Lagos about three weeks ago but was shocked to receive an e-mail from the airline saying the flight had been cancelled without further options.

He said the airline claimed the flight was canceled due to “operational reasons,” which didn’t explain the details.

“I run a travel agency. I have been working with the aviation industry since 2002. We booked tickets from Azman about three weeks ago. The airline on Sunday evening sent a message to me that the flight was canceled due to operational reasons.

“Immediately I received the message, I tried to call the number, but it was switched off, I sent an email, but there was no response from them. To cut the long story short, I had to get my clients another ticket because what they were going for was very important,” he lamented.
