The New Generation Faith Anglican Church, Port Harcourt was full to capacity on Sunday when Bayelsans especially women of the state accompanied the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo-Law to thank God for the successful burial of departed mother, Ezinne Eunice Tasie.
Delivering a sermon at the Outing Service, the Archdeacon of Port Harcourt West Archdeaconry, Venerable Eugene Nicholas, enjoined Christians to steadfastly trust God at all times and situations.
Venerable Nicholas who drew his message from Psalm 46 Verses 10 and 11, stressed the need for believers to remain calm in the face of trials and calamities.
According to the cleric, those who worship the Lord in truth and Spirit, do not have anything to fear in the tortuous journey of life as God has what it takes to deliver them.
The clergyman maintained that those who put their trust in man for any reason are bound to fail, even as he identified consistency and faithfulness in the service of God as critical factors of success in life.
According to Venerable Nicholas, “Trusting in the Lord entails placing your entirety on Him both in good times and in the midst of calamities, hardship, agony, pain and loss.
“No man can succeed in life without an obstacle. If your trust is in worldly things, you will lose. Human confidence is vanity, I’ll talk to that you, so you must be still and trust God because there is no situation He cannot change.”
Commenting on the life and times of late Madam Eunice Tasie, Ven. Nicholas described her as a Christian who showed true commitment to God and urged the children to imbibe her positive legacies.
In her remarks, the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo-Law, expressed gratitude to God and everyone who contributed to the successful burial of her mother at Ibaa Community in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State a week ago.
She particularly thanked the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, his family, as well as the entire government and people of the state for making her family proud.
