Unknown gunmen have abducted the Nasarawa state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Philip Tatari Shekwo.

The incident occurred barely four weeks after the abduction and subsequent release of a former Commissioner for Higher Education in Nasarawa state, Chief Clement Uhembe.
The latest kidnap incident happened last night when the unknown gunmen stormed the Lafia residence of the APC chairman along Kurikyo road in Lafia, the capital of the state, and whisked him away.

State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bola Longe, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the kidnappers invaded the house of the APC chairman at about 11:00 pm and took the victim to an unknown destination.

He said that the command had already deployed personnel to comb all criminal hide outs to ensure that the victim is rescued from his adductors, calling on members of the general public to assist the Police with useful information that will lead to the timely rescue of the party chieftain.
