PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Dr Nasiru Argungu.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement yesterday, said the directive which was given on Friday, December 4 is to be effective from Monday, December 7.

Meanwhile, the supervising minister of the agency and Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has been directed to nominate an acting director-general from amongst the most senior directors based on competence and seniority to take over from Argungu until a substantive holder of the post is appointed by Mr. President.

The sacked director-general has been having a running battle with the minister of state, labor, and productivity over the engagement of 1,000 workers in each of the 774 local government areas.
