Ahead of the Anambra State Governorship election billed to hold this year, a frontline aspirant under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Ifedi Okwenna has tasked the leadership of the party at both National and State levels to live up to their promise of conducting a free, fair and transparent primaries, saying that  PDP’s victory at the poll would be largely dependent on a process that produces the party flag bearer.
Dr. Okwenna gave this task while addressing party chieftains at the 13th Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders meeting held in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
He said that it is only when the Primary Election is free, fair, and credible that a losing aspirant will congratulate the winner and join forces to ensure the victory of the party.
He showed appreciation to the BOT members of the party, the Zonal and State Executives, for organizing the event especially now that the election is around the corner.
Dr. Okwenna noted that the meeting will grow the unity, love, and togetherness in the party and among the aspirants, ahead of the PDP Governorship Primaries and the elections proper.
Addressing the media at the end of the meeting, Dr. Okwenna thanked the former Governor of Anambra State and Vice Presidential candidate in the 2019 Presidential Election, Mr. Peter Obi, for showing leadership through his speech and actions at the Meeting.
He Stated that Peter Obi’s donation and proposed Ward tours will increase activities and enthusiasm in the party ahead of the elections.
