Speaking during the empowerment programme aimed at building capacities of women as well as building their confidence, the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Pauline Tallen said the ministry was pleased to identify with the objectives of DWOPA especially in its response to vulnerable women and girls.
Tallen said in the Ministry’s effort to fight against poverty especially as it concerns women and girls has put together programmes aimed at building capacities of women in various economic activities.
She lamented the adverse effects of gender inequality that exist in the country.
” Inequalities that exist between women and men politically, socially and economically have a large influence on our women and girls,” she said.

Lamenting gender inequality in Nigeria, Mrs Okezie said if women were voted in power there would be changes in the country and issues of insecurity would be tackled.
The founder who encouraged women to challenge violence against women, sex for the position( appointment), sex for promotion (at work), and sex for marks (in school) also urged them to discover their gift and embrace God so as to be satisfied in life.
