Nigeria’s and United States based heavyweight boxer, Efe Ajagba is planning to dethrone his fellow countryman Anthony Joshua in a fight to be staged in Nigeria.
Ajagba is already plotting how he would dethrone Joshua, who is currently the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles World champion in front of home fans in Nigeria.
“The people would support Joshua because he is the heavyweight champ,” Ajagba tells Sky Sports
But Ajagba who is establishing himself as a dangerous contender with vicious KO power said he would love to take on Joshua who he said he would beat in Nigeria.
Nigerian power puncher, now based in Texas, is looking to move into the world title scene soon.
“I have more skills than Joshua. The best weapon of Joshua’s is the left hook and right uppercut. He doesn’t have a good jab. I respect him. He is the heavyweight champion. I respect everything about him,
his talent and his potential. But I am sure I will beat him.
Ajagba (13-0, 11 KO) is a good prospect, against Joshua (23-1, 21 KO) but the young fighter is still something of a work in progress, and matching him with Joshua now would be a pretty foolish or bold idea, depending on how one looks at it.
Joshua still have to fight Kubrat Pulev and perhaps Tyson Fury before who has remained unbeaten in the heavyweight cadre can have a date with his fellow country man.
The 26 years old beat former world title challenger Razvan Cojanu in March earning a ninth round before the Coronavirus which ravaged the whole world and forced all sporting activities to a halt.
