Total of six hundred and one (601) 2020 Batch “B” stream 1B National Youth Service Corps, NYSC,  members comprising those deployed to Ekiti and those dislodged from Lagos State were sworn-in yesterday in Ekiti State.

Declaring the ceremony opened at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise Orun/Emure-Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, Governor Kayode Fayemi, in his address, charged the corps members to take the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, program seriously and ensure they participate in all the camp activities, assuring them of their safety, as the state is widely known for peace.

Dr. Fayemi also commended the state Coordinator for her achievement in the state amidst outstanding challenges.

Earlier in her welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mrs. N.N Chikezie, thanked the Governor for approving funds for the massive renovation of the camp facilities and providing a “very peaceful” environment for visitors in the state.

The ceremony was presided over by the chairman of the State Governing Board, Hon. Michael Awopetu, also had in attendance: the Camp Director, Mrs. H. T Fagbemi, the Camp Commandant, Captain A Agbo, the Resident Officer 1, Mrs. Felicia Agedo, other heads of collaborating agencies and camp officials.

The participating corps members are to be conscious of their health, imbibe good hygiene, ensure regular handwashing and effective use of hand sanitizers, and observe other necessary Covid-19 preventive measures during and after the orientation course.

Highlights of the event were the taking of the oath of allegiance administered on the corps members by Barrister I. A Omotayo, and cultural dance presentation by the corps members
