Igbo Youth Movement, IYM, a group of Igbo youths that cut across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has commended the professional role played by the Nigerian Police in resolving the land dispute between one Mrs. Uju Ohanenye and a paint factory employing a substantial number of youths at cattle lairage site in Emene, Enugu State.
A statement signed by the national coordinator of the IYM, Chidiebere Odimegwu, noted that no amount of threat or misinformation would stop the restoration of justice as championed by the Nigerian Police.
“Igbo youths are of the view that no amount of threat misinformation half-truth and total lies will stop Justice restoration which Nigeria police has championed hence we pass a vote of confidence to Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu and the Enugu State Police Command.
“Despite the pending appeal Court cases on the said matter CA/E/367M/2018 which CA/E/87/M/2018 last heard 15/10/2020, the said property came under attack with many injured by hoodlums purportedly mobilized by land grabber, Madam Mrs. Uju Ohanenye, whose stock in trade is to misinform the police hierarchy and judiciary and obtain a document to back her criminal intention of obtaining by pretense where alleged landowner can’t produce a Certificate of Occupancy and other necessary approvals and search report from the state where the properties are situated he or she by law has no right of claim, she should face her civil suit. E/210/2018/ as we are optimistic that land grabbers in Enugu State will never escape justice,” it said.
The group, therefore, charged Mrs. Ohanenye to immediately vacate the said factory or face the wrath of Igbo youths, who it said were gainfully employed in the factory, from Monday, January 11, 2021, as safeguarding the factory is now the responsibility of Igbo youths until justice and peace are restored.
