…says he was a bridge builder

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has expressed sadness over the death of the Chairman and Founder of Leadership Newspaper, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah.

Bello described the late publisher and politician as an epitome of hard work and patriotism, a bridge-builder, and a firm believer in the unity of Nigeria.

He said “Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah was an epitome of hard work, a firm believer in the unity of Nigeria and a great patriot. Although a pharmacist by training, through hard work and commitment to excellence, he founded the Leadership Group which has in its stable one of Nigeria’s foremost and most influential newspaper.”

The FCT minister also noted that as a resident of Abuja with business concerns located in the nation’s capital, the late Nda-Isaiah contributed immensely to the development of the FCT.

While praying for the repose of his soul, Malam Bello also prayed that the Almighty will grant his entire family and the Leadership Group the strength to bear the loss.

Similarly, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu has expressed shock over the sudden death of Mr. Nda-Isaiah.

The minister in her condolence message said she was saddened over the death of a successful businessman, dogged politician, and a renowned publisher who has redefined the journalism profession.

Aliyu, therefore, condoled with the immediate family, staff and management of Leadership Group, Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, NPAN, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, and the journalism profession for this great loss, noting that the vacuum his death has created would be hard to fill.

While noting that death is an inevitable end to every mortal existence, the minister said members of the FCT family are, however, consoled that late Nda-Isaiah distinguished himself as an astute politician and promoter of Nigeria’s unity.

Aliyu prayed to Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
