Nigeria Football Federation NFF President, Amaju Pinnick and other contestants are awaiting FIFA’s eligibility test results due out this month-end.

The NFF boss dropped out of the CAF Presidency race as well as Executive Membership of the body in the election that will be held in Rabat, Morocco on 12 March will have to

wait till month-end for his candidature for FIFA Council to be approved.

This is the outcome of the CAF Governance Committee which released the names of candidates for numerous positions for election in March.

He is not alone. The CAF report states that the eligibility check is underway at the level of FIFA bodies and the result will be communicated in due course.

Others include the acting president of CAF, Constant Sélémani Omari of Congo, Almamy Kabélé Camara of Guinea both seeking to return to their positions in FIFA as representatives of the CAF Francophone Group.

Pinnick is seeking one of the two positions for the Anglophone group.

Meanwhile, former CAF president Ahmad Ahmad has been banned from contesting in the election by the Election Committee after he was confirmed banned by the world soccer governing body (FIFA).

Senegalese Augustin Sengor and Ivorian Jacques Anouma were clear to take part in the election after thorough verifications.

As for the candidatures of the Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya and South African Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe they were considered admissible, but ‘the commission considered that additional verifications are necessary before a final decision.
