The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Zubairu Dada has commiserated with the family of late elder statesman, Senator Salihu Jibrin, the Tsaiwan Lapai, while expressing sadness over his death.
Ambassador Zubairu Dada in a condolence message described late Senator Jibrin as an elder statesman, a dedicated servant of the people, humble and a greàt farmer.
He said his death is a great loss not only to his family, Lapai Kingdom and Niger State but entire Northern Nigeria and the nation at large.
Special Assistant on Media to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Aliyu in a statement in Abuja noted that the Minister also expressed shock at the demise of the late politician.
The Minister recalled late Senator Salihu Jibrin‘s contributions as one of the best Senators in the Second Republic.
While wishing the soul of the late elder statesman eternal rest, Ambassador Dada also prayed to Allah Subnahu Wata’ala to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Late Senator Salihu Jibrin died in the early hours of Tuesday in his Zaria’s residence after a protracted illness leaving behind a number of children among whom is the Niger State Commissioner for Education Hajiya Hannatu Salihu.
He has since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites.
