Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri on Monday appealed to the political actors in the state to stop from activities that are pulling the state in reverse.
The Governor made the request in Yenagoa during the state’s ninth yearly thanksgiving which occurred at the Ecumenical Center, Igbogene, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri asked political adversaries in the state to drop the unlimited prosecutions and go along with him in the errand of building the state.
He stated, “We should be building bridges and not burning bridges. Prior to APC and PDP, there was Bayelsa”.
“This is not the time for endless litigation. Bring your Blue Economy, Yellow Economy and whatever idea you have to the table let’s work with it for the interest of Bayelsa
“Before APC or PDP, Bayelsa was there. So, our doors are open to all. If you have ideas on how to build our economy or improve our IGR, bring them on. It is time to build Bayelsa State.
“You know that times are hard, and it is not just for Bayelsa, or Nigeria, but worldwide. However, tough times don’t last, but tough people do, so we will overcome these difficult times and Bayelsa will prosper in Jesus name.”
He appreciated the guest preacher and general overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, , for his constant prayers for him and the state.
Diri also saluted former President Goodluck Jonathan as well as the former Governor Seriake Dickson, for their presence at the occasion.
In his remarks, Dr Jonathan urged Bayelsans to emulate the body of Christ and learn the virtues of tolerance.
He tested the political actors in the state to consistently go into political decision and legislative issues essentially for the interest of Bayelsa.
Pastor Adeboye asked God to give the State the ace keys that open entryways of breakthrough and goodness.
