A Socio-political group in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, under the umbrella of Umaisha Political Central, UPCA, has honoured the state governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi with awards as Ambassador of Peace/Justice and Best Speaker of the year respectively.
President of the group, Comrade Ibrahim Yunusa Karika, while presenting the plaque to the awardees at a ceremony in Umaisha town of Toto Local Government said the award was an honour to the governor and the Speaker in view of their quality leadership style.
Comrade Yunusa Karika noted that the state government has so far performed creditably well in governance particularly in the area of infrastructural development, peace promotion, justice, among others.
“Today, we are honouring His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule with an award of Excellence as Ambassador of Peace and Justice. We have also honoured the Speaker with an award of Best Man/Leader of the year for their leadership qualities in the state”
The UPCA President assured the Governor and the Speaker of their unalloyed support and prayers to enable them to succeed.
Responding, Speaker Balarabe, who received his award and that of the Governor, appreciated the youths of the area for the recognition and assured them of his continued determination to bring speedy development and peace to the area and the state at large.
“I want to assure you that I will personally present His Excellency’s award to him in Government House, Lafia. I will brief him on what happened here accordingly, I am highly overwhelmed”

He noted that, as a leader, he will continue to welcome constructive criticisms to ginger him do more for the benefit of his constituents and the state as a whole.
While admitting that he could not solve the problems of all his constituents at once, Speaker called for patience to enhance the much-needed dividends of democracy.
The speaker also called on the people of the area and the state at large to live in peace and tolerate one another as well as support the Governor to succeed.
In their separate remarks, Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda, Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, who got the award of Local Government Peace Maker and Hon. Yusuf Omaki, appreciated the youths for organising the event, describing it as timely and reflective.
