As many have continued to oil the campaign machinery ahead of the 2023 presidential race, a political interest group, Amechi Vanguard, has adopted the Minister of Transport, Barr. Rotimi Amechi to emerge as the next president of Nigeria come, 2023.
To back their support, the group Wednesday inaugurated the Enugu State chapter of the mandate group as well as the 17 local government coordinators, with a charge to deliver Amechi in 2023.
Speaking during the inauguration, Enugu State Coordinator, Amechi Vanguard,  Barr. Kate Nnamani said the choice of Amechi came as a result of a frantic search for an experienced, capable and acceptable presidential material they undertook.
According to her, Amechi has held various positions as an adviser to the governor, speaker, governor and now a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as a result is eminently qualified to be president.
“We as members of the defunct Igbo Presidential Mandate, IPM, took it up as a challenge to scan the political landscape of the Igbo nation for the best based on the factors listed above.
” Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amechi clearly stood out shoulder high.  He stood tall bestriding the entire Igbo nation like a colossus on the three fronts,” she said.
The state coordinator said that when they arrived at Amechi, their search was thus accomplished, especially when they realised that other pressure groups had equally chosen Amechi and have collapsed their structures into Amechi Vanguard.
“We, therefore, reached an equivocal conclusion that he, Amechi, is the most experienced, most capable and most acceptable.
” In a competition such as a president of the federal republic of Nigeria, you do not go for the second-best on any of the three factors; you go with the very best.
“We, therefore, have no other choice but to with the best – the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amechi.  With him, the search for a Nigerian of Igbo extraction is over,” she concludes.
National Coordinator, Amechi Vanguard, Haruna Nature, who performed the inauguration ceremony said that their assignment was just to, “galvanise support for Amechi to answer the call to be the president of Nigeria.”
“I want to urge the members of Amechi Vanguard to go into the wards to galvanise for Amechi,” he said.
