Tyson Fury has told Mike Tyson that UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is “easy work” and that he will “roast him” after he’s taken care of Anthony Joshua. The Gypsy King is now in Las Vegas preparing for the undisputed mega-fight with Anthony Joshua that looks set to land this summer in the Middle East.
An announcement is on course to arrive in the coming days, confirming that the bout is on for July with Saudi Arabia the current frontrunner to host the spectacle.
Fury and Joshua are contractually obliged to fight twice, with both expected to take place this year barring any late hiccups.
Now the Gypsy King claims he’s ready to go to war with the UFC’s most dangerous fighter Ngannou after defeating AJ, having previously teased he’s ready to make the crossover.
“MikeTyson, after I roast Joshua, I will smash this guy also. Easy work,” said Fury on Instagram.
Fury has previously spoken to UFC chief Dana White about potentially moving across to MMA and began training with middleweight Darren Till in Liverpool to sharpen his skills.
But before he can consider putting his boxing career on hold again, Fury wants to get his hands on the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight straps.
Meanwhile, Ngannou has previously outlined his desire to fight Fury while a contest with Dillian Whyte has also been speculated.
“I don’t want to fight Mike Tyson but I would like to fight another heavyweight boxer such as Tyson Fury,” Ngannou said.
“Absolutely. I’m open to that. Remember boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire, the dream inside me and I believe at some point, I’m gonna take a step.”
Iron Mike, who has just sat down with Ngannou on his podcast, has also previously outlined his desire to fight Fury in an exhibition contest.
