….It is not true…Abia PDP.
The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has said in a press statement credited to him that the incumbent Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has planned to join the APC as a precondition of winning his last electoral victory at the Supreme Court.
But in a swift reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state has denied this claim, arguing that there is no iota of truth to what it described as a frivolous claim.
The denial was contained in a one-page press statement signed by Chief Fabian Nwankwo, the State Publicity Secretary of PDP made available to Nigerian Pilot in Umuahia, the party maintained that electoral victory at the Supreme Court has not been decided based on a politician defecting from one Political party to the other.
Abia PDP described the false allegation as an attempt to score cheap popularity and to distract the public from commending Abia Governor on his numerous achievements and efforts in keeping the party, PDP he built united and is poised to win all future elective positions in the state.
Nwankwo however advised APC leaders to prevail on President Muhammad Buhari to tackle the growing insecurity, economic retrogression, social injustice, and decay in infrastructure in the country rather than making a frivolous claim on a dynamic Governor.
Abia Publicity Secretary used the opportunity to reaffirm the PDP’s Confidence in Ikpeazu to continue leading PDP to greater heights stressing that the Governor has never contemplated or does not have the desire of leaving PDP for any other party.
Fabian Nwankwo, therefore, called on Abians and PDP loyalists to ignore the rumor peddlers on their falsehood and sustain their support for the Governor to remain focused on delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
