National leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday joined scores of women and youths to protest the helplessness of the federal government in rescuing over 300 school children kidnapped by terrorists from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State.

The protester, who converged in front of Legacy House, Maitama, had various placards condemning the kidnap of the school children.

PDP National Chairman of the Prince Uche Secondus who joined the protesters, said the party members, like most Nigerians, were, traumatized by the callous action of the criminals who abducted the children.

Secondus said, “This is a peaceful protest to make the entire country and international community to be aware of what is going on in our country. All we’re saying is that Buhari brings back our boys from Katsina.

“It is important, we are in pain, the parents are in pain, the entire country is in pain, we’re in agony, we are in sorrow.

“It is high time for the government of the day, the APC government, to bring back our boys from Katsina. That is the bold statement by PDP today with this peaceful protest.”

The PDP also demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress to do more than issue statements condemning the act by going all out to reunite the children with their parents.
