FORMER Super Eagles player Bright Omokaro has called on Super Eagles and other national teams players to learn from the spirit of dedication to duties and competitiveness exhibited by former players of the Nigeria senior national team in their approach to the game.

Omokaro, nicknamed 10/10 in his playing days said imbibing sure spirit will enable them to stamp their place with posterity. He regretted that the spirit of competition these days is not as strong as what was obtainable in the past where players were ready to give their all to seal a spot in the national team.

According to Omokaro, “At that time it was a tug of war when John Chidozie will come, Fashanu will come they find it difficult to pick a shirt. It was only late Sam Okwaraji who came in very strong from Germany then that was able to fit into the team.

‘’There should be a competition, so they should put in everything to make sure they write their name in gold. Today you are interviewing me, I have left Football over some years, but because of the impact I had then, that is why you are calling me, they should learn from us.”
