Comrade Ademola Babatunde, former presidential candidate of the Nigeria Community Movement Party, NCMP, has urged the youths to take their destinies into their own hands, rather than leave it in the hands of ‘mediocres’, who according to him, have nothing to offer them and the entire Nigerians.
He stated this during the 50th birthday symposium of Omoyele Sowore, held in Abuja yesterday.
According to him, the present crop of leaders managing the affairs of the country, have massively failed. Therefore, should not be allowed to continue to toy with the future and destinies of the youths.
Babatunde stated that: “Having watched and seen the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari with his bunch of lieutenants, got convinced that they have nothing to offer the youths, hence, should not be allowed to continue to toy with their destinies.
“I cannot commit my destiny and that of my children into the hands of mediocre who has nothing to offer the youths and indeed the entire Nigerians.
The youths should make the leaders talk now about the future of Nigeria and not about the 2023 general elections. The youths should make them talk about their plans for the future of Nigeria amid the general insecurity that permeates the country and their politics of divide and rule which has further divided along ethnic and religious lines,” he added.
Babatunde urged the youths not to relent in their quest for demanding accountability in governance, as well as seeking a just country, where everybody will have equal rights regardless of ethnic, religious and political affiliations.
