Former Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi was instrumental to Oghenekaro Etebor loan spell to Galatasaray of Turkey

Last season, Etebo was on loan to Laliga side Getafe and the arrival of Mikel at Stoke deemed him surplus to requirements.

Etebo did not really gave account of himself at Getafe as a result he was sent Stoke at the end of the season.

The arrival of Mikel which Stoke officials see as a more experienced midfielder has put paid to Etebor staying put at the English Championship side who missed promotion.

Mikel excelled at a pre-season with Stoke was described as excellent as Manager Micheal O’ Neil feels that the former Nigerian captain filled in the gap well in the absence of Etebo.

O’ Neil satisfaction with Mikel made him declared Etebor as surplus to requirements hence the decision to send him on loan to Galatasaray with an option of signing him permanently at 7 million pounds.
