The FEDERAL government, through the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has directed Mallam Abubakar Fikpo to take over as the Acting Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE.

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, gave the directive, saying the appointment, which took effect from Monday, December 7, authorizes Fikpo to take over the administration of the agency in an acting capacity pending ratification by the president.

Fikpo’s appointment was titled: ‘Appointment as Acting Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment.’

“Following the directive of Mr. President relieving Dr. Nasiru Argungu as the Director-General of the NDE, you are hereby directed to take over as the acting director-general of the agency pending ratification by Mr. President.

“This is to ensure there is no vacuum in the administration of the agency,” a statement made available to journalists yesterday by the Deputy Director/Head, Press and Public Relations, Charles Akpan, read.
