Board of Trustee, BOT, member of the  All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Jude O. Okoloagu rtd, has said that the people of South East, Ndigbo have nothing against President Mohammudu Buhari nor the ruling party, the APC.

Okoloagu who stated this Wednesday when he revalidated his membership of the party in his country home, Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State,  said Igbos are in APC just as they are in other political parties saying that it is erroneous for anybody to infer that Igbos hate APC or the President, Buhari.

He reasoned that APC is not a Hausa, Yoruba or Fulani party but a party for all Nigerians.

According to him, “Igbos have nothing against Buhari.  They have nothing against APC.  APC is not a Hausa or Fulani party.  APC is not a Moslem party.  We should educate our people on this.”

Okoloagu who is also a board member of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, pointed out that when Obasanjo was the President, he did not make PDP a Yoruba party neither did anybody refer to PDP as a Yoruba party but a national party.

He said that in a free and fair election, APC would win the election in any part of the country especially Enugu state, adding that “PDP is  not on the ground.”

“In a free and fair election, PDP is not on the ground.  We’ll not rig election but we shall win 2023 election.  PDP can say anything.  Go to your area and convince people to join APC, ” he enjoins.

As a proof that PDP is not on the ground in Enugu State as well as other states, Okoloagu called on the Chairman of the APC revalidation and membership registration committee for Enugu State, Sen. Jonathan Zwingina, to use his good offices to ensure that the electoral act is passed into law to dissuade rigging.

“Chairman, what you can do for the Igbos and Enugu State, in particular, is to use your contacts and experience and whatever to ensure that the electoral act is signed before the next election.  Ensure too that Local Government elections come under the supervision and conduct of INEC and that is the only time you people will understand whether Igbos have anything against the ruling party or not,” he declares.

Speaking at the occasion, Zwingina urged the ward chairmen to do anything possible to convince people to register with APC, pointing out that even civil servants are free to register and become a party member.

The revalidation exercise was witnessed by the Enugu State Chairman of APC, Dr Ben Nwoye and APC chieftains.
