Northern Governors Forum, NGF, yesterday, made plans to set up a Youth and Civil Society Committee to draw in young people with the end goal of tending to their pressing demands.
This was contained in a resolution made by the forum after a meeting with northern emirs and chiefs in Kaduna.
The governor additionally raised consideration on the need to keep an exacting watch on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to make preparations for unjustifiable and ruinous protest and protect basic resources of the country.
Perusing the report, chairman of the forum and Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong said this was one of the decision that the governors arrived at after an engagement with traditional rulers, individuals from the National Assembly, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari
The dispatch said the governors dismissed and denounced the incendiary activities of the #EndSARS protest.
“The standout disturbances and other change system activities outside the voting booth exploited the peaceful protest to push their reparative plan. The meeting supports the resoluteness, constancy and unity of the country.
“The meeting observes the staggering impact of the uncontrolled social media in getting out fake news. It along these lines, calls for significant control system and restriction of the social media practice in Nigeria.”
The meeting additionally recognized the National Assembly and the administration for being proactive in tending to the issues of #EndSARS protest across the nation over, adding that the impact of uncontrolled social media is pulverizing.
It made plans to help the Nigerian Police Force to serve the nation better and required the fortifying of trust between individuals and the police.
