The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has on Thursday, commended the laudable achievements recorded through the Community Development Services, CDS SERVICOM of the serving Corp members in Katsina State.
The NYSC DG who was represented by the Katsina Zonal Inspector of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Nura Manir said that the SERVICOM CDS group has been adjudged the leading one in the State.
He urged others to borrow a leave from SERVICOM CDS and commended the group for setting the pace for others to follow in the State.
“Going by our assessment so far, I will say SERVICOM have been leading in the whole State, and you still lead because so far, you have commissioned so many projects, but I think this one is the best and gigantic.
Similarly, the SERVICOM Staff Adviser, SamaiIa, who also represented the head of CDS Suleiman Ayodeji, disclosed that SERVICOM has been ranked number one in the State“Even last year, SERVICOM is among the best. It is the first CDS in our ranking and I want to let you know that it is SERVICOM we sent to Abuja as the best group in Katsina State”.
They all made the remarks on Thursday while commissioning the group’s project spearheaded by the outgoing leadership of the SERVICOM CDS group, at Modoji Primary School GRA, Katsina.
Suleiman Isah Enemin, is the President of the outgoing leadership of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream one, donated teaching materials and repaired about hundreds of spoiled students’ desk at Modoji Primary School GRA, Katsina
According to Isah Enemin, their motivation in carrying out the project was to complement government efforts towards making learning conducive for pupils in the State.
He said what informed the choice of Modoji Primary School for the donation is because the school has been their host, though the group’s activities are not confined to Modoji Primary School alone but other schools in the State as well.
Other items donated by SERVICOM CDS group to the school includes teaching materials such as chalkboards, markers, refilling inks, cardboard papers among others.
An Assistant Director in charge of Planning, Research and Statistics NYSC Katsina State, Ibrahim Umar who stood in for the NYSC State Director, Yahaya Ahijo, while appreciating the laudable efforts of members of the SERVICOM CDS group said if given the necessary cooperation by the community, corp members through the CDS group can achieve so much beyond expectations as they can build or construct roads, hospitals, schools, and many things.
Furthermore, the Headmaster of the school, Shafii Ibrahim, thanked the SERVICOM CDS group and assured them that what they have presented will have direct bearing and a positive impact on the teaching and learning environment of the community school.
He assured SERVICOM CDS and the NYSC management of judicious use of the items to enhance learning of the pupils.
