LEADER of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has accused the United States of America, USA, United Kingdom, UK, as well as the International Criminal Court, ICC, of being nonchalant to the mass killing that took place at Obigbo, Rivers State, recently.
Kanu, in a statement, through IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, lamented that the international community seems to have been indifferent to victims of the orchestrated mass murder.
The IPOB leader, who also accused Governor Nyesom Wike of the killings, said he demonized Obigbo people in order to murder them.
“Governor Wike demonized Obigbo people just to kill them. Sadly the killings are still ongoing yet no action from the ICC, US Ambassador to Nigeria, UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, EU Mission to Nigeria, etc.
“It is now clear that the international community no longer cares about victims of state-orchestrated mass murder like what happened in Obigbo.
“Appealing to the moral sense of responsibility of conscientious civilized nations no longer works perhaps they want survivors of these brutal massacres all over Nigeria to go into armed resistance,” he lamented.
Kanu equally accused the Nigerian Army and the international community of being culpable in the Obigbo and Lekki killings, pointing out that Boko Haram, ISWAP, and bandits have continued to kill and maim, but they chose to look the other way.
“The much ‘respected’ terror franchise like Boko Haram, ISWAP, and bandits are busy chopping off the heads of rice farmers in Borno. The cowardly bunch of murderers in uniform called the Nigerian Army only have power over unarmed citizens.
“Countries like the United States of America, especially those apologists for impunity in Nigeria at the US State Department, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Turkey, and European Union that supply arms to Nigeria are equally culpable in the murder of innocent people at Obigbo and Lekki,” he alleged.
