National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mai Adamu Mustapha, on Thursday debunked a report that members of the National Working Committee, NWC are at war with the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus over alleged mismanagement of party funds.
An online newspaper has reported that the PDP National Auditor issued a memo where he alleged among others that N10 billion generated since the advent of the Prince Secondus-led leadership has been unaccounted for.
It was also alleged that billions of naira realized from the sale of congress forms and membership cards have not been accounted for.
Addressing a press conference at the PDP national secretariat, Mai Adamu Mustapha, declared that he indeed wrote a memo to the NWC for consideration but the content was completely twisted in the online report.
“To say the least, I am shocked that the routine Memo can be so mischievously misrepresented in the media ostensibly to achieve a sinister purpose against our party.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all the issues raised in the memo were exhaustively deliberated in the NWC meeting. The deliberation was conclusive because on all the items raised, approvals were sought and granted by both the NWC and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great party.
“l want to state clearly that I did not make any allegations of any form of financial impropriety against the National Chairman neither did I allege any form of misdemeanor on any member of the NWC.”
He added that the NWC is not divided as being speculated “as we are working in the collective interest of our party.”
He also urged the media to always crosscheck all the facts in all matters before going to press to avoid misleading the public.
