In appreciation of his invaluable contributions to the development of Ogun State, the prestigious Ijebu Ode club has appointed the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Abdul-Majid Adesegun Adekoya as its Centenary Chief Liason Officer.
At a ceremony to mark 100 years of the Ijebu Ode Club, which was founded in 1921, the President of the Club, Barr Adegbenga Ogunba commended Aremo Adesegun Adekoya over his unprecedented developmental efforts that are notable in his Federal Constituency – Ijebu North, Ijebu North East, and Ogun Waterside LGs.
Barr Ogunba described Aremo Adekoya as a golden fish who has nowhere to hide.
The President of Ijebu Ode Club said he was not surprised when Aremo Adekoya emerged the overall best of the Federal Lawmakers in Ogun State for the year 2020 / 2021.
The Club President later charged Hon Adekoya to continue to assist in the physical development of Ijebu Club while assuring the Deputy Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives of the Club total support and loyalty.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Adekoya appreciated the President and the entire members of the Ijebu Ode Club for the honour done on him and others. He promised his total support to the growth and development of the club.
He used the occasion to call on the Ijebu sons and daughters across the globe to come together and unite for the rapid growth of the entire Ijebu land.
Hon Adekoya expressed his displeasure on why only Ijebu Province out of all the Provinces in Nigeria before 1960 has not become a full State on her own while all other old Provinces have become two or more States.
