-Named match commissioner for Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament

NIGERIA Football Federation, NFF, Acting Director of Competitions, Ruth David, has been officially appointed by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, as one of the match commissioners who will play key roles in the organization of the qualifying tournament for the maiden edition of CAF Women’s Champions League competition slated for Cote d’Ivoire. Ruth David was former head of Women football, head of international in NFF as well as secretary to the senior women national team, the Super Falcons. David will be joined by fellow Nigerians Felicia Okwugba who -Named match commissioner for Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament will serve as technical instructor, Yemisi Akintoye (referee), Friday Mfon (assistant referee) and Promise Uwaeme (information technology) at the tournament billed for July 15 to 30 in Abidjan. Six teams will participate in the championship, including Nigeria’s Rivers Angels (winners of the Super 6 tournament held in Ijebu-Ode). Others are Association Sportive de la Police de Niamey (Niger Republic); Onze Sours de Gagnoa (Cote d’Ivoire); Hasaacas Ladies Football Club (Ghana); Amis du Monde Football Club (Togo) and Union Sportive Forces Armees (Burkina Faso). The inaugural edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League competition will be held in Egypt later this year.
