Obi of Umunede Kingdom, HRM Obi Dr. Ezeagwu Ezenwali, has called on Ika nation to continue to strengthen the things that unite them.

Obi Ezenwali gave the advice during the launching of the maiden Almanac of Umunede Council of Chiefs at Umunede, in Ika North East Local Government Area.

The monarch stated that Ika land was blessed with a lot of potentials and could achieve more when the people continue to feed and strengthen those activities that unite them.

He commended his council of chiefs for its initiative, describing the almanac as a historic and a binding force, calling it to continue to exhibit respect for the throne by striving towards the development of the kingdom.

On his part, the Chairman of Umunede Council of Chiefs, Chief Amos Onyeagwu while eulogizing the Umunede monarch, said that the council would continue to contribute to the advancement of the kingdom.

He used the occasion to commend Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for developmental strides across the state, which according to him, had made Delta State stand out in the country.

The chairman of the council of chiefs while appealing to participants to be more generous in their giving to launch the Almanac, stated that the proceeds would be used to award scholarships to some indigent students.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Frank Chukas applauded members of the council of chiefs for the ingenuity, urging them not to relent in their efforts.
