Valentine Chineto “Val” Ozigbo was born on the 20th of July, 1970 to Mr. Andrew Ozigbo (a retired school headmaster) and Christiana Ozigbo (a small businesswoman).

He was a President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria plc (Transcorp).

Valentino Ozigbo attended Christ the Redeemer College where he obtained his SSCE certificate.

He obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in 1994 and an MBA in Banking and Finance from the same University in 2000.

In 1998, he obtained a professional qualification in accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in 2000

In 2004, Val Ozigbo obtained an MSc in finance from Lancaster University, United Kingdom.

Val Ozigbo obtained a professional qualification in Credit Administration from the Institute of Credit Administration in 2015.

Prior to his appointment as the CEO of Transcorp, he had17 years experience in the banking sector. He worked with notable Nigerian banks including NAL Merchant Bank, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, FSB International Bank, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa and Bank PHB.

Between 1995 and 2000, he was the Head of Commercial Banking at Diamond Bank Plc. He proceeded to become the business manager at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) in 2000.

In 2001, Val Ozigbo was Acting Regional Director of FSB International Bank, but returned to pick up the position of Head of International Banking at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) in 2004.

He left UBA for Keystone Bank as the Global Transaction operation in 2008.

In 2011, Val Ozigbo was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc, a diversified conglomerate with strategic investments and core interests in the hospitality, agribusiness and energy sectors.

While at Transcorp, Val Ozigbo developed five new projects worth over $500 million including two new hotels in Lagos and Port Harcourt as well as other retail facilities.

In 2018, Val Ozoigbo retired as the CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc.

In 2021, Val Ozigbo picked nomination form to run for Anambra State Governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defeated 15 other aspirants to pick the PDP ticket.

Valentine Ozigbo is from Aguata. Aguata is a Local Government Area in Anambra state in Nigeria, with its headquarters in Aguata, a major part of which falls into the major commercial town of Ekwulobia, while the smallest part falls within Aguluezechukwu.

Val Ozigbo is a fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Institute of Credit Administration.

He was a British Chevening Scholar from 2003 to 2004.

In 2018, he was conferred the award of a Distinguished Alumni of the Lancaster University.

Val Ozigbo is married to Mary-Callista Ojiugo Ozigbo. Their union is blessed with three sons (Mario Obioma Ugochukwu, Chimdi Angello and Mitchel Chima) and one daughter (Valerie Chioma).

Valentine Ozigbo is a real definition of a successful business executive, in January 2019, his journey as the Managing Director of Transcorp Hotel PLC came to an end positively, and he was elevated to the position of President/Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp PLC.
