Veronica Ngozi Osuhor is a management and legal multi-skilled professional in business and corporate strategy, policy development and deployment with extensive experience in the electricity industry.

Osuhor Veronica possesses over 30 years of experience in the Nigerian power sector with 15 years of senior management experience advancing to the highest level of leadership in the industry. She has demonstrated leadership acumen incorporating corporate strategies, public sector policy, people development, marketing, and business process improvement. Veronica Osuhor is an outstanding professional with an excellent grasp of energy management, workforce optimization, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Mrs. V.N. Osuhor was the first female District Admin Officer of defunct NEPA in Nigeria.

In 2011, she was appointed by the President as the Managing Director of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company, the first female to hold this esteemed position in Nigeria. In this role she was responsible for the electricity supply of the North Central Zone that covers five (5) states.

At the peak of her public service career, she was the first Managing Director, Independent System Operations for the Nigerian Electricity Market, where she headed the Market Administration and Electricity dispatch in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

As a result of the privatisation of the power sector and due to her stellar performance in the aforementioned role, she was appointed to head the Market Operations at the Transmission Company of Nigeria.

Subsequently, she was appointed the Managing Director of Independent System Operations–the first female in this position. She held this role until her meritorious retirement from public service.

In addition to her Law and Business Administration degrees, she holds a Masters Degree in Management from Rutgers University, USA. She also holds an MBA from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, and is an alumnus of the prestigious London Business School, Lagos Business School and the Manchester School of Business.

In addition, she is a fellow of several professional institutions, including the African Business School and the Chartered Institute of Administrators.

An astute leader, Ngozi has held several leadership positions in her private life including the President of Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, Lady Captain, IBB International Golf and Country Club Abuja, National President of Soroptimist International, President Umunede Wives and Daughters Association (UWADA) amongst others.

Due to her philanthropy and tireless contribution to human development, Chief (Mrs) V.N. Osuhor has been recognised by various ethnic groups. She holds the title of the Ugoeze of Ndoni Land in Rivers State; The Jarkadiya Ciroman 1 of Bauchi in Bauchi State; The Kpakpando 1 of Ewulu, The Oriuwe of Akwumazi Umuocha Kingdom and the Odaze of  Umunede Kingdom in Delta State.

Her hobbies include playing golf, music, reading motivational books and travelling.

She is the President of Rotary Club, Blue Waters, Asaba and is happily married, with four children, to Barrister Edwin Osuhor, the Edosomwan of Umunede Kingdom.
