VICTIM Support Fund, VSF, at the weekend, donated palliatives to the Plateau State Government.

The palliatives were presented to Governor Simon Lalong in Jos.

While receiving the items, Lalong expressed appreciation to the Fund for reaching out to vulnerable persons in the state through the presentation of the items.

He assured that the items will be distributed to the intended beneficiaries in line with the guidelines set by the donors.

A statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Simon Macham, also said that the Minister of Women Affairs, Paulsen Tallen thanked VSF for the donation which she said will go a long way in cushioning the effect of the looting that took place in the state last month.

Chairperson, Victim Support Fund Task Force on COVID-19, Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsuji, who made the presentation, explained that the items are to be shared with members of the civil society and government on a 50/50 ratio.

Our correspondent reports that the food items presented include 5,745 bags of rice, 5,745 bags of beans, 5,745 bags of maize, salt, soya oil amongst others.
