The Gateway Movement in conjunction with the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), a nongovernmental organization founded by former governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) has showered multimillion naira empowerment items on the people of Ijebu/Remo which constitutes Ogun east senatorial district.
The historic event took place at the Palace of the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Ita-Oba, Sagamu.
The attendance during the event was massive, reach and colourful. The Special Guest of Honour was the 2023 APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was represented by Hon. Wale Edun, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Senator Ganiyu Olarewaju Solomon.
Some of the dignitaries at the event were Senator Gbenga Kaka, Alhaja Salamot Badru, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Chief Joju Fadairo, Yeye Olufunke Daniel and others too numerous to mention.
The Royal Fathers were also represented by their Queens. The Council of Baales, APC party faithful, religion bodies, non indegenes and various support groups were also part of the program.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his short speech appreciated Otunba Gbenga Daniel for his various good gestures towards him and urges Ogun east electorates to vote massively for BAT and OGD in the coming 2023 general elections.
Tinubu described Otunba Gbenga Daniel as a progressive politician who is very intelligent, resourceful, focus and a goal getter.
Various goodwill messages were delivered by some of the dignitaries who were present during the occasion.
Encomiums were also poured on Otunba Gbenga Daniel who many see as their benefactor, mentor and fantastic role model.
The attendees unanimously agreed that Otunba Gbenga Daniel is the most acceptable, credibile and qualified candidate to represent Ogun east senatorial district in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly come 2023.
“Otunba Gbenga Daniel political sagacity, experiences, goodwill, antecedents and his numerous landmarks achievements recorded during his tenure as the Governor of Ogun State will surely make his journey to the Senate an easy one.
“Otunba Gbenga Daniel is the most celebrated and appreciated Governor of Ogun State since the creation of the state in 1976. The good people of Ogun east are now ready to reciprocate the good gestures of Otunba Gbenga Daniel. It’s payback time for OGD.
“It’s on record that most of the public institutions and facilities that are today present in Ogun East were delivered by Otunba Gbenga Daniel during his successful administration as Governor of Ogun State (2003 – 2011).
“It might sound funny but it’s a fact that there is no single Federal institution (education, health) located anywhere in Ogun east senatorial district as all the existing ones are located outside Ijebu / Remo.
“The victory/emergence of Otunba Gbenga Daniel as a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023 will surely change the narrative. Otunba Gbenga Daniel is tested and trusted.”
Otunba Daniel in his speech appreciated all the invited dignitaries who graced the occasion.
OGD also appreciated the mammoth crowd who came from all the nooks and crannies of Ogun east senatorial district to be part of the occasion.
He assured his teeming admirers and supporters of his quality and adequate representation in the National Assembly when elected in the next year general election while also urging them to vote massively for him and other APC candidates during the elections.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel also charged his supporters to remain prayerful and peaceful before, during and after the general elections as nothing can be achieved in the atmosphere of chaos.
Various empowerments items such as Tractor, Toyota Highlander SUV, Deep Freezer, Grounding Machines, Sewing Machines, and Generators, etc were won in a raffle draw organized during the program.
This empowerment program will go round all the other local governments in Ogun east senatorial district sooner or later according to Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Hon. John Obafemi (JOBAF) the Deputy Director General of the Gateway Movement who was supported by General Muyiwa Okunowo (rtd), Dr. Babatunde Onadeko (OGD Chief of Staff), Otunba Fatai Sowemimo (OFS), Alhaji Jamiu Olododo and Otunba Mrs Ronke Oduneye, appreciated all the attendees on behalf of the Gateway Front Foundation / Gateway Movement.
