THE Katsina State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa narrated how men of the force has on Thursday killed and repelled terrorists attack on Yasore village of Batsari local government area of the State.

SP Isa made this known in a press statement noted that the terrorists in their large number shooting sporadically immediately they stormed the village with AK 47 rifles.

“Today, Thursday, 02/03/2023 at about 0730hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Yasore village, Batsari LGA of Katsina State.

“Consequently, DPO Batsari Division, led a combine team of Police and Vigilante group to the area, engaged the hoodlums into a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them.

“In the course of scanning the scene, the team recovered 2 corpses of neutralized terrorists, 2 AK 47 rifles, 5 AK 47 rifle’s magazines, 97 pieces of 7.62mm ammunition of AK 47 rifles, ITEL GSM Phones, Bunch of criminal charms A black bag containing the sum of N2,580, a lighter, a pen and a blue veil.

“Many of the terrorists were reasonably believed to have been neutralized and/or escaped the scene with gunshot wounds.

“Search parties are combing the nearest bushes with a view of arresting them and/or recovering their dead bodies. The Command is appealing to members of the communities around the area to report to the nearest police station any person found or seen with a suspected injury.

“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina state Command, in charge of elections, CP Koo Yusuf, commended the efforts of the Police and the vigilante for the display of uncommon courage, gallantry and professionalism in dealing with the hoodlums” he said.
