Job racketeering: Reps summon DG Budget Office, Head of Service, others

House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee investigating the mismanagement of personnel recruitment, employment racketeering and and gross mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) has summoned the Director General of the Budget Office.

The Committee also summoned the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Chairman, Civil Service Commission to appear before it’s panel today.

The probe is to be carried out in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) a well as tertiarty institions of the Federal Governemnt.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon Yusuf Gagdi who issued the summon during an investigative hearing on Wednesday said no stone would be left unturned in dealing with the problem of personnel recruitment, employment racketeering and the mismanagement of the IPPIS, assuring that the Committee will do a comprehensive job.

According to him, anyone found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

It would recalled that some Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission who appeared before the Committee accused the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mureeba Dankaka of nepotism, corruption and highhandedness.

The Committee urged the Chairman to return her submissions in written form on Friday and appear again before the Committee on Monday next week for a continuation of the hearing.
