A group called Alliance for Justice and Democracy has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his role in resolving the political conflicts between Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and the former Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, as well as for ending the dispute between the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The group in a press release signed by its Coordinator, Andrew Yakubu, described President Tinubu as a father and leader who has shown capacity in uniting Nigerians, irrespective of party affiliation.

The statement reads:

“We wish to express our gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his timely intervention in resolving a situation that posed a serious threat to peace and had the potential to destabilize two states in the country. His swift action helped to avert a leadership crisis in Rivers and Ondo States, and we especially appreciate his efforts in urging stakeholders in the affected states to respect the Constitution and embrace peace.

“President Tinubu’s intervention successfully brought a solution to the political conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and the former Governor, Nyesom Wike, and this goes to demonstrate his status as a father of the nation. The President’s move has quelled tensions that were already rising and development can now thrive in the two states.

“President Tinubu’s proactive approach in resolving the prolonged dispute between factions loyal to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, proves his strong commitment to fostering unity and progress of the country.

“By bringing together opposing parties and facilitating constructive dialogue, he prevented potential turmoil and created an opportunity for renewed focus on governance and development in Ondo and Rivers states.

“While it’s regrettable that the President had to divert his attention from pertinent national duties to address the crises in Rivers and Ondo states, his grace and leadership in this conflicts are profoundly appreciated.

“We also commend the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for accepting to allow peace to reign.

“Also to share in the commendation is the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for embracing the initiative of President Tinubu and also accepting the amicable resolutions.

“While praying for the speedy recovery of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, we commend the high level of maturity displayed by Lucky Aiyedatiwa while the whole Ondo drama lasted, even as we trust that he will draw all stakeholders to himself and lead well.”
