BANGOF New Chairman promises all inclusive government

The new leadership of the Bayelsa Non-governmental Organizations Forum, BANGOF has assured its members to run an all inclusive government that would prioritize their welfare.

The Newly inaugurated Chairman of BANGOF, Comrade Taretein Boco gave the assurance during the handover ceremony of the new executive members held at the Environmental Rights Action, ERA Office, Samphino, Yenagoa the state capital.

Boco averred that he would have a consultative meeting with all stakeholders inorder to build confidence, transparency and accountability to ensure that BANGOF becomes a Regional and National Hub for Civil Societies.

He expressed appreciation to the interim leadership for sustaining and navigating BANGOF through its difficult times while pledging to access the challenges critically.

Mr Boco called for the unflinching support from the outgoing leadership as they embark on their journey to reposition BANGOF on a transformative path to a greater level of effectiveness.

The election that brought the new leadership into office was held on November 30, 2023.

The Chairmanship position was keenly contested between Comrade Keme Opia, the immediate past Secretary, and Mr. Taritein Boco who won the election with just two votes.
