GOVERNOR Ahmed Usman Ododo of KOGI State has approved the immediate removal of Hon. Hassan Atawodi as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Lokoja, the Governor also approved the immediate appointment of Musa Muhammed Lawal as replacement for the ousted Atawodi.
The statement which was signed and issued by Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, also directed Atawodi to submit all Government property in his possession to the new Transition Chairman.
The statement further directed Hassan Atawodi to handover all the affairs of the Council and submit his handing-over note to the new Transition Chairman with immediately effect.
Though no reason was given for the sack of Atawodi, the statement said the removal was in line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s zero tolerance for any form of corruption in his administration.
