Renowned legal practitioner, Barr. Chukwudi Ezeobika, has posited that effective engagement of Igbos in strategic economic and administrative positions under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains the only panacea for the survival of the All Progressives Congress in Nigeria.

The legal luminary maintained that the loyalty and faithfulness of the Igbos to the Nigerian State cannot be overemphasised having remained the only tribe that has, both in words and in action, exhibited the highest level of patriotism within the country.

In a statement issued Thursday and made available to our correspondent, Barr. Ezeobika opined that the Nigerian government, at any point in time, can boast of meaningful developments in the innermost and most notable urban areas in Nigeria simply because of the economic and social policies and wilful resolve by the Igbos to develop and advance cohesion and peaceful coexistence in all parts of the Country.

The former National Legal Adviser, Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) stated that the Nigerian State has, through its administrative and socio-economic policies, subjected the Nigerian economy to ridicule in the eyes of the Igbos and the international community due its preference for Incompetence as opposed to merit and its romance with local and international bodies who profess doom on the continued existence of the Nigerian State.

“Just like the betrayal of the south-east region by the People’s Democratic Party in the Just concluded 2023 general elections by the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its presidential Candidate despite the region’s immense contributions and unparalleled loyalty and support to the party since 1999, the current government has viciously failed and unwittingly chosen to proceed in same errors in not correcting these past and glaring misdeeds by riding itself of nepotism and inequity.

“The Buhari-led APC government has, since 2015, taught us how NOT to run an all-inclusive government in Nigeria and has foisted on the nation, nepotism and unprecedented level of socio-economic retrogression,” the former Senatorial candidate, Anambra South averred.

The right activist also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, stressing that it is a catalyst to attaining a lasting and enduring social economic cohesion in Southern Nigeria.

“The kidnap, torture and unlawful extradition of Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya by the Buhari-led APC government in connivance with the Kenyan government remain reprehensible and condemnable and ought to be made right by this very government.

“The effects of the ineptitude of the past administration are now clearly visible to all Nigerians and the current economic hardships occasioned by such incompetence has never, in the history of the Nigerian State, been seen before.

“I, therefore, call on and urge the current government to redeem the battered image of the Nation and restore the weakened confidence and trust of the people, and take positive steps to strengthen peaceful coexistence and economic growth in Nigeria,” he stated.
