Edo State House of Assembly has directed that the impeachment notice served on the State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu be published in some National dailies.
The directive it was gathered is sequel to the refusal of the Deputy Governor to acknowledge the impeachment notice.
The Speaker, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku who stated this at plenary on Tuesday explained that the action became necessary because the Deputy Governor refused to acknowledge an earlier impeachment notice sent to him through the clerk of the house.
Nigerian Pilot recalls that the Assembly had last Wednesday issued an impeachment notice on the deputy governor with a seven-day ultimatum to respond.
Agbebaku said the latest move by the House is to ensure all grounds are explored to adequately serve the impeachment notice to elicit Shuibu’s response within the seven day ultimatum given by the House.
