An Environmental activist, Mr. Taribo India West was shot at by yet to be identified gunmen possibly by members of bunkering cartel who are not comfortable with his stiff opposition to their activities in the area.
It was reliably gathered that Mr. West was shot at on January 4, 2022 by the men who left the scene of the incident believing that he was dead.
According to a reliable source, Mr. West who was presumed dead by his assailants fled and has not been seen nor heard from since them.
The attack came barely six months after a similar attack on him in Port Harcourt which left him seriously wounded and hospitalized for sometime.
It would be recalled that Mr. West has been a torn in the flesh of the oil bunkerers suspected to be working for some powerful politicians.
He had at a point in time reported their activities to the relevant authorities which led to the arrest and detention of some of them though they were said to have been released shortly after.
