Ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s primary and 2023 general elections, a group of youth in in the party under the auspices of Youth Arise Movement, One Nigeria Group and others, have called on the presidential aspirants jostling for the ruling party’s presidential ticket, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to shelve their aspirations and support Dr Akinwunmi Adesina in becoming the APC presidential flag bearer in the next general election.
Comrade Ademola Babatunde, the convener Youth Arise Movement, YAM, speaking on behalf of the other groups in a media parley yesterday, said they are reaching out to the determined and older aspirants across the country trying to inform them of why Nigeria should be considered first and not ambition.
According to Babatunde, in his words;He will be remembered for this goodwill. “We are reaching out to the determined and older aspirants accrossacross the country trying to inform them of why NIGERIANigeria should be considered first and not ambition. We need them to use their wealth of experiences to help support Dr Akinwunmi Adesina in becoming the Presidential flag bearer of APC and win the 2023 election.”
He maintained that every stakeholders in all the communities of groups in Nigeria shall be reached to make a definite note on the way forward in defining a road map for the country’s collective existence and future as a people.
Babatunde posited that this is the right time to stand up in defence of this great country and her people, and that they are set to deliver notes that will in turn translate to form part of what the next administration should look into as part of its directions to creating a roadmap and sustainable projections for development across board.
“We will not allow anyone to patch the old Nigeria for us anymore, we will get our people and our great nation to channel a true course to making sure that the only candidate we are sure of Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, is adequately supported to win the primary and become the flag bearer of APC,” Babatunde added.
