All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State, led by Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile yesterday reacted to the statement made by Prince Gboyega Famodun, the erstwhile Chairman of the APC, through his Media Aide, Mr Kola Olabisi, on the status of Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile as the Chairman of the party.

According to the Publicity Secretary of the factional group of the party, Abiodun Agboola in a press statement issued and made available to journalists in Osogbo, “It is obvious that Famodun is still wallowing in impunity and high-level arrogance by which he brought the once solid impregnable Osun APC to the present sorry pass, hence the unreasonable outburst of the said Olabisi.

“Otherwise, no rational human being with clear knowledge of rule of law will make the kind of insensitive statement made by Famodun.

“Famodun’s statement is a clear testimony to the fact that he and his people enjoy impunity more than due process”.

The statement argued further that, “Like Governor Adeboyega Oyetola and Famodun people have made it habitual in the last one year, visiting violence on members of the party and taking laws into their hands may be the next line of action on this matter that is purely legal.

” If Famodun, a supposed prince will be averse to amicable, and indeed legal resolution of matters before a competent court, then his kingdom will be chaos personified if he ever had cause to ascend the leadership ultimately.

“Every right-thinking member of the APC, the Osun social milieu and watchers of its events are aware of the LEGAL issues with the chairmanship of Osun APC, and we expect Famodun and his ilk to be aware of it too.

“If he is proud of the fraudulent manner by which he got to that position, we take him to moral and legal tasks and note that resulting to self-help as indicated in their cheap talk and write up isn’t the way to go”

The factional group further admonished Prince Famodun to approach the court of law saying, if his ego cannot tolerate the obvious legality in calling a spade by its name as is the case with Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile. “Maybe the court will teach him to know that when a matter is before the court of law, the status quo remains and help him to right-size his huge ego to the level of a reasonable person.

” It is clear to us that no self-respecting public person with a clear head will run public office at his own whims and caprices as done in the case of APC under Prince Famodun whose selfish interests take precedence over public good” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled that the state APC Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun warned Alhaji Ayobami Rasak Salinsile to desist from parading himself as the state Chairman of the party.
