Abala community appeals to Okowa to provide good roads network, other infrastructures

The Abala Community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State has appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to provide good roads network and other infrastructural amenities to the community to enable them feel government presence.

The Odogwu of Abala Kingdom and Philanthropy in the community, Dr. Christopher Iwale, who made the appeal while speaking with Journalists, frowned that Abala community has never tasted any social amenities.

Odogwu noted that the Abala community produce large quantities of plantain, yam and fish but they found it very difficult to convey the goods to the market and the buyers take advantage of them.

Dr. Iwale who averred that the community has been abandoned for too long lamented over non recognition of the community by the State Government.

He noted that the community has been suffering from bad access road, school, hospital and electricity.

He said that the community have only one primary School, adding that the secondary School in the community was built by the community and there are no adequate teachers to teach the students due to poor road network.

According him, “on my capacity I brought dredging machine to fill the roads hoping that through that effort, Government will intervene, yet Government still remain adamant.

“We have written to people in authority to help our community, they keep on promising that they will respond in a short time, all still no avail”.

Iwela who emphasized that the community have suffered a lot said he decided to purchase vehicle and speed boat for Anti-cult group to assist the security operative in the community.

“I do all these to my people not because I have everything but it is what my conscience direct me to do and I don’t expect anyone coming back to worship me for my Philanthropic nature”.

He advised the youths in Abala to be patient; expressing belief that one day somebody will come to their rescue.

He added that it is painful after graduating from higher institution no good job to end a living.
