Immediate past President of the Senate and national stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Bukola Saraki, chided the All Progressive Congress, APC, led administration in Kwara state, saying it has put the state in a reverse gear.

Saraki, said this in Ilorin while speaking at a public forum organised by the PDP group tagged “Kwara Yesterday, Today and Our Dream”

In his words “APC led administration both at the centre and the state level have not met the yearnings and aspirations of the people, and therefore deserved to be voted out, so as to return the country to the path of glory and even development.

“Nigerians are now living in abject poverty, pains, insecurity, economic downturn among others.

“With this development, the APC does not deserve to lead the nation and states again in Nigeria because the emergence of the party was basically on propaganda.

“The PDP government of 16 years in the country and Kwara state have so many achievements to point to and the general populace can testify to it.

“We had good economy, created wealth, provided job opportunities, constructed roads, among others and this is the time to return the PDP to power so as to continue with the good governance come 2023”.

Saraki, who accused the present administration in the state of unfulfilled electoral promises, said “It is disheartening to note that, after the APC had used propaganda to get to office on May 29, 2019, the party cannot even embark on projects that can allow President Muhammadu Buhari or Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to come to Kwara State to commission a single project as being done by the govenors from other states in the country.

“The APC during the last general elections in the state called me many names and used selfish agenda to cajole the people of the state and now the people have seen the APC led administration of incompetence in the day to day governance of the State.

“I want to use this occasion to call on the youths, women and entire people of the state to reject the APC in the state and return the PDP in the next year general elections so as to address all the challenges of governance facing the state.

“The PDP as a party had done it before and they performed very well and the party is now more ready to provide qualitative leadership that would turn around the socio-economic growth of the state”.

Earlier, a former Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi and former Chairman, Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), Prof. Murtala Awodun in their separate lectures, decried the dwindling socio economic development of the state since the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq took over the mantle of leadership.

They said the present administration had taken the state back, advising the incoming administration to work as a team so as to return the state into economic prosperity.
