Ahead of the 2023 polls, the Controller General, Federal Fire Service, FFS, Engr Jaji Abdulganiyu has deployed utility vehicles to States Controllers to further facilitate surveillance before, during and after the elections.

This is as Nigerians go to the polls to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general elections, expectations are rising as to how the rising tide of change in narrative could effect a thorough fire safety plan for a grand fire cover through a robust synergy of the Fire Service, Nigerian Police Force, Military and Paramilitary agencies.

Jaji, in a press release issued yesterday by the FFS, National Public Relations Officer, AC. Paul Abraham also approved hotlines to report cases of fire or related emergencies before, during and after the elections processes to forestall the occurrence of avoidable fire hazards at polls.

He reechoed that its collective security strategy was to implement the Fire Service mandate for fire prevention which is in tandem with the policies that ensure smooth and safe conduct of election protocols.

In the foregoing, the CG also warned that members of the public while carry out their civic duties should desist from using or harbouring inflammables (petrol, kerosene etc), primary sources of ignition (cigarettes, lighters, match boxes, etc), explosive devices at or near any polling unit.

Further more, the Federal Fire Service called on all and sundry to call the phone numbers below in their various states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to report any issue that could compromise the safety of lives and property during this period.
