OHIMEGE-IGU Koton-Karfe, HRM Alh. Abdulrazaq Isa-Koto, has pronounced ancestral blessings on the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming November 11, Governorship Election, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The Royal Father who is also the Chairman of Lokoja/Koto Traditional Council gave the blessings when Ododo paid him a courtesy visit at his Palace on Friday in Koton-Karfe said the ancestors of the land were supportive of his candidacy.

He said that the ancestors of the ancient town of Kotonkarfe were with him (Ododo) and would play a big role in ensuring a smooth victory for him in the governorship election.

“You have my prayers, you have my blessings and you have the support of the people. Today, I give you an ancestral blessing to come out victorious”, he said.

Speaking earlier, the candidate had extolled the wisdom of the Royal Father in fostering unity in the entire Kogi Local Government Area and commended him for ensuring peace and security in the Kingdom.

“For me, it is a homecoming and a visit to a father that has always been a blessing to me. I thank you for supporting my Boss, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello to succeed. I have no doubt that you will always play a fatherly role to make us succeed.

“Our administration will consolidate the gains we have recorded in security, education, healthcare, infrastructural development as well as human capital development.

We owe the people good governance as we cannot let down the flag of progress hoisted by Alhaji Yahaya Bello”.

In his remarks, Alhaji Salihu Akawu Saidua, the Galadima of Kotonkarfe and leader of the APC in the Local Government Area and Kogi West Senatorial District,expressed confidence in the the capacity of the candidate and the party to record victory.

“The candidate came to see me and we have agreed to work together and by the grace of Allah, he shall be successful.

“He has come to Your Royal Majesty for blessing and I have no doubt that our father will bless him”, he said.

Goodwill messages were the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Deedat Ozigi; Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon. Bashir Gegu and others who assured the people that Ododo would not disappoint them or Kogi State.
