Residents of Abuja, the Nigerian Federal Capital were treated to a mesmerizing ‘Unusual’ Art exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and varieties by Aderinkomi John Adeleye.
The Five-Day ‘Unusual’ exhibition which began on Wednesday 13th through Sunday 17th, September was launched by the President, Society for Nigerian Artists, SNA, Sulaiman Muhammad at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, in Abuja.
At his Solo exhibition, John Adeleye, who is the Chairman, Society of Nigerian Artists, SNA, Abuja Chapter narrated that, “My paintings are inspired by my society, the people and the happenings around me, to highlight problems and proffer solutions. Art is my medium of expression, my Arts tells stories and convey memories I proffer
solutions and heal the world through my Art.
“Like many other artist, since childhood, I have been drawing and painting all kinds of things.”
He said, “I developed an interest in Art as a young child always drawing on my school books and any surface. Only God knows how many things I spoilt trying to repair them while growing up.
“There is so much in Art that cannot be taught, but you acquire them from experience and years of practice, the more you paint the more you understand Art, I have been a full time studio Artist for the past 23years.
“Today at 55years I make a living from my self expression as a multimedia Artist I use every medium at my disposal to create an awareness.
“My artwork tells stories they convey message to the audience and speak to everyone who view them. Art is my medium of expression the canvas is my microphone. I say things in colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way.”
He stated that, “I find my inspiration in God the creator of Heaven and Earth. The bible says in the book of Job 32:8 “But there is spirit in man. And the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
“I also find my inspiration from things happening around me, from Beauty, Truth, Sorrow, Anxiety, Love, Betrayal, Death and Politics. I treat my studio time as sacred, my everyday life is balanced between making art
and going to church.
“The ‘Unusual’ is out of the ordinary it goes beyond traditional regimental painting style. The works on display are unique, collectible extraordinary Art works with High future value, Created, Designed and Developed for modern Art collectors and Art enthusiast.
Immerse yourself in my word of thought provoking unusual Art work. Each piece of the Artworks on display complement and converse with each other creating an Harmonious outlook.”
Born On September, 17th 1968, the Artist, hails from Fiditi, Oyo State in Nigeria.
He is a 1988/1990 graduate of Art from the Polytechnic Ibadan Oyo State. Also he has a B.Sc. in Sociology, 2004 /2009 from the University of Abuja, FCT.
John is a dynamic, experienced all round Multimedia full time studio Artist who has contributed and committed his creative capabilities towards the growth and development of Art in Nigeria.
The FCT SNA Chairman, has consistently participated in various exhibition and workshops both local and international.
His works are in collection of both private and public organization; and in all Nigerian missions Houses Abroad.
Aderinkomi John has been 2times Vice Chairman of the Society of Nigerian Artist, Abuja Chapter. He is now the current Chairman of the Society of Nigerian Artist, SNA, FCT.
Aderinkomi John Adeleye who is a quintessential multimedia Artist, also dedicated his solo exhibition to his lovely Daughter Adeola Chinyerenwa Aderinkomi, saying the words, “I love you”

To Aderinkomi John, every work of Art are often a reaction to, or interpretation of all we have
observed and experienced in our society. My Artworks tells stories, they convey messages to the audience and speak to everyone who view them.
The Unusual (out of the ordinary) are mixed media and paintings art work that captivates the eye and resonates deep within the soul.
They are unique, extraordinary, collective Art with High future value.

Also speaking, Anila Adnan said that the John’s work of Art, were mesmerising and surely was Unusual.
The occasion was graced with other top ranking Artists in the country, they include: Prince Prosper Akeni, Anila Adnan, SNA President, Sulaiman Muhammad, Eukaria Godwin and others.
He enjoined all, saying, “be captivated as you stand before this evocative Artwork, immerse yourself in the world of thought provoking unusual pieces and let them resonate with your own journey through life.”
