An advocacy group known as Forum of Lawyers for Human Rights and Justice, has said that the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, deserves commendation over her ongoing reforms of National Social Investment Programme, NSIP to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda.

The group’s position came on the heels of claims connecting the Honourable Minister to alleged financial impropriety within the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

In a statement signed by its convener, Barrister K. D. Okere, the group said the recent reports inaccurately linking the minister to the ongoing investigations involving the alleged removal of funds by Hajiya Halima Shehu, the sacked National Coordinator of NSIPA, are being peddled by looters of palliatives who are against the minister and President Tinubu’s government.

Okere noted that within few months in office, Betta Edu has made significant contributions to the growth and development of the nation, through her reforms in the federal government’s social investment program and the humanitarian ministry, hence deserves commendation.

He stated that her unwavering commitment over the months to alleviating the plight of the most vulnerable Nigerians is worthy of note.

According to him, since her assumption of office, the minister wasted no time in translating the renewed hope agenda into action, spearheading transformative initiatives that have brought about positive change in the ministry.

He urged President Tinubu to ignore charlatans calling for her sack, adding that she has done tremendously well, hence why looters of palliatives who are against the president’s government are coming up with false accusation, in a bid to bring her down.
